Financial Times

My book review illustration for Robert Harris’ ‘The Fear Index’ was featured in the Financial Times today. The article entitled ‘Money Stalks’ tells the story of a hedge fund trading on fear. Robert Harris is a fantastic writer and I was ecstatic when the brief came through. Big thanks to Graham Tuckwell for such a fun commission.

Buttercup Mash now in the shops

I came across by first children’s full jacket book sleeve for Oxford Press publishing, entitled ‘Buttercup Mash’ by Joanna Nadin, in the shops today. The cover has a fun spot gloss effect on top of the colour printing. My second book for Oxford Press has just been completed and looking forward to seeing it in production soon.

The Darwin project is coming along nicely and evolving day by day. Can’t wait to exhibit this next year once I’ve completed a million hours drawing time. Below is a sneak peak of yesterday’s activity…

Evolution

For the first time this year I finally have some free time to continue a self directed project I started developing last autumn. The project explores a small twig from the expansive evolutionary tree, first created my good old Darwin. Just examining a tiny twig from the tree is becoming a huge task to overcome. More on my progress later!

Computer Arts

Little feature of my geometry mailout in this month’s issue of Computer Arts magazine. Big thanks to Garrick for the exposure.

Happy Halloween

The ancient Celts believed that the border between this world and the Otherworld became thin on Samhain, allowing spirits (both harmless and harmful) to pass through. The family’s ancestors were honoured and invited home while harmful spirits were warded off. It is believed that the need to ward off harmful spirits led to the wearing of costumes and masks. Their purpose was to disguise oneself as a harmful spirit and thus avoid harm.
